Our Wedding Story Las Vegas, NV - June 18, 2003: Tina and I arrived in Las Vegas at about 11pm; we checked the cat into a pet hotel and headed over to the Stratosphere. We checked into a room that overlooked the parking area, so after a quick call to the front desk we were comp’d an upgrade to the honeymoon suite overlooking the strip. We headed down to the casino and I pulled Tina away from the slots to try her luck at blackjack. Our first nights winnings actually covered the ceremony and 2 nights stay, and of course the breakfast. We headed to bed about 6am, ready for some sleep before the big event. As we woke 8 hours later and got ready, Tina found a flower shop in town who did a magnificent job in fulfilling Tina’s request for an arrangement for her bouquet. Tina picked some flowers for her hair, and we headed back to the hotel to get ready. At about 5pm we headed down to the bar for a drink to calm our nerves. It was a well-deserved break from all the running around in 110-degree heat we had done. We left our room about 6:15pm for the tower, and our 6:30pm ceremony. We were brought to the front of the line and greeted by our private wedding butler, who escorted us up the elevator and introduced us to the pastor doing our ceremony, Rev. Roy Cobb. Rev. Cobb started the ceremony at 6:30pm and a crowd had gathered to witness our special moment, as he lead us through the vows Tina and I felt totally overwhelmed and felt the thoughts and prayers of our friends and family who weren’t there. It was a moment like no other, and I will never forget it.
The dinner experience was awesome, everything was great, and the chef sent us out some specials off the menu dishes to try. A photographer came by and took our picture, which turned out to be one of the best wedding shots I have ever seen. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner and dessert (a giant chocolate stratosphere sunday) and just sat back and talked about the days to come. It was a wonderful start to our lives together. |
